Other features built into the Sonocaddie V300 include shot distance measuring and tracking, digital scorecard and game analysis functionality, and personalized course editing and mapping. Shot measuring allows players to leave the driving range behind as you accurately measure the length of individual shots, while the tracking system strings each shot in a round together cumulatively for later review. The unit's digital scorecard and game analysis functionality allows players to toss out their paper scorecard and tiny pencils for good as they keep track of their game digitally and perform an analysis based on pre-determined data points at the end of each round. And although the V300 is designed to download every known aspect of the courses of the world, no course's links are static. This is where its editing and mapping functionality comes in. Whether it's the filling of a bunker, the lengthening of a tee or a removal of a tree, with the V300 players can map, edit and save changes noticed on their favorite fairways right on the spot. Finally, the unit's memory and optional Sonostar membership club perks allow for all the flexibility that even the most avid of golfers could need. The V300 ships with enough built-in storage space to simultaneously accomadate data on up to 30 courses as well as track 100 rounds and record 100 scorecards. I thought this product was just what I was looking for. Much better than the Sky caddie that I had befor and I thought I could use with my MAC because I run all kinds of PC programs on my MAC useing VM Fusion with Windows XP but I could not download the course information. Everything else worked fine. I would buy it again if they could make it work with a MAC.

Hi fellow golfers--I ordered the Sonocaddie because it looked like it was the most advanced and did not have an annual fee. However, I returned it. I have an early version of Sky Caddie and wanted to update to something techier. The Sonocaddie just does not have the most accurate nor most flexible info! On my home course, it didn't have the water and bunkers in exactly the right places--even had a bunker that was removed about 3 years ago. You can;t set it to give you layup yardages as a fixed choice--and, to me, the most important, it doesn't tell you where the end of the fairway is. I think you can set if as you play and save it for future--but what about the first times you play a course?
If you want accuracy and flexibility, buy a Sky Caddie and pay the annual fee--it's worth it!

I'm really sad. I haven't used my Sonocaddie for 6 months because I found out it is giving me the wrong distance by 7-10 yards on short shots so I would fly the greens lots of times. When I compared it to my caddie with my golfing two buddy's with Sonocaddies, wish I talked them into buying a Sonocaddie, they were both right on and I was 7-10 yards different. I compared my Sonocaddie to other Skycaddie, range finder types and I was always off.
I called customer service and they said to send it in at my cost and they would check out and fit it if possible. If they are not going to help me then they can just keep it because it makes me sick to look at it knowing how much I paid for it and the one time membership I bought(+$400).
Also every time my wife sees it sitting there she reminds me of how much money I spent.
FYI, I am a 7 handicap.

I compared all golf gps units based on price and features and benefits and the Sonocaddie was my choice. I am so happy with this purchase. I have only played one round, but it was great. I am a 9 handicap and was able to focus on my game and not waste a bunch of time looking for sprinkler heads that were not very evident. I am anxious to play a course with gps on the cart so I can compare but the distances that I hit were very consistent. Once I stood on a 200 yard marker and the sonocaddie said "202". That's very good. Though I play in a metropolitan area, most of the time I had 9-10 satellites showing on the unit and only 6 are needed for accurate measure. I love the scorecard feature, although I forgot to change it to pro prior to my round. I was able to change it after the round and was able to go back and add putts and fairways hit. I played better because I focused on my game instead of the guy I was playing (we tied at 83). I love the sonocaddie. There is only a one-time fee to load all US courses of $30 and there is a $50 free gift pack when you order before the end of January. Get on it man! Amazon has the best price.
